If the pager service doesn’t answer, IntraMail will retry the callout number. Message Notication may
eventually cancel if the callout remains unacknowledged.

Programming
Programming that Applies to All Types of Message Notication
Step 1 Set up Trunk Group Routing.
Message Notication callouts use Trunk Group Routing (dial 9) when selecting outbound routes.
1.1 14-05-01: Trunk Groups
- Assign trunks to trunk groups (1-8).
By default, all trunks are in group 1.
1.2 14-06-01: Trunk Group Routing
- Set up Trunk Group Routing. There are 8 routing tables, with 4 routes in each table.
By default, the rst route in routing table 1 is trunk group 1. No other entries are dened.
This makes trunk group 1 the dial 9 route by default.

Step 2 Set the maximum number on incomplete callout attempts.
2.1 47-01-14: Number of Callout Attempts on page 197.
- Set how many times (1-99 attempts) IntraMail will retry an incomplete Message Notica-
tion callout. This total includes unacknowledged callouts, callouts to a busy destination,
and callouts to an unanswered destination. This option applies to pager and non-pager call-
outs. The default setting for this option is 5.
The default setting for this option is 5 attempts.
Step 3 Be sure Message Waiting lamping for Subscriber Mailboxes is on.
3.1 47-02-08: Message Waiting Lamp on page 202.
- Enter 1 (Yes) to enable Message Waiting lamping.
- If Message Waiting lamping is disabled (0), Message Notication will not function.
By default, this option is 1 (Yes).
