Directory Dialing
70 ◆ Chapter 2: Features IntraMail for Aspire System Guide
- Specify how many letters of an employee’s name the caller must dial to use Directory Dial-
ing. If the caller dials less than the specified minimum number of letters, IntraMail cannot
route the call. The entries are 1-3 (1-3 letters).
✔By default, callers must dial at least 1 letter of the employee’s name (1).
Step 5 When Directory Dialing finds a name match, should it route the call as a Screened or
Unscreened Transfer?
Unscreened Transfer
5.1 47-14-04: Unscreened or Screened Transfer on page 244.
- Enter 1 to route the call as an Unscreened Transfer.
✔By default, IntraMail routes the call as a Screened Transfer (0).
Screened
Transfer
5.2 47-14-04: Unscreened or Screened Transfer on page 244.
- Enter 0 to route the call as a Screened Transfer.
✔By default, IntraMail routes the call as a Screened Transfer (0).
5.3 47-14-05: Screened Transfer Timeout on page 244.
- Set how long a Screened Transfer from the Directory Dialing Mailbox will ring an unan-
swered extension before recalling. The entries are 1-255 seconds or 0 for no recall.
✔By default, the Screened Transfer Timeout interval is 15 seconds.
Step 6 To change the amount of time Directory Dialing callers have to dial letters:
6.1 47-14-06: Time Limit for Dialing Commands on page 244.
- Enter the new timeout duration (0-99 seconds).
- If the caller waits too long to dial, the Directory Dialing Message repeats.
✔By default, Directory Dialing callers have 5 seconds to dial letters.
Step 7 To record a Directory Dialing Message:
7.1 See Operation below.
- The Directory Dialing Message is the Instruction Menu for the Master Mailbox pro-
grammed as a Directory Dialing Mailbox.
✔By default (without a custom message recorded), the Directory Dialing Message is,
“Please enter one or more letters of the person’s name, then press the pound key.”
7.2 47-01-04: Non-Subscriber Message Length on page 194.
- This option sets the maximum message length (1-4095 seconds) for Instruction Menus.
✔By default, this option is 120 seconds.
Step 8 Enable or disable the ability of the Directory Dialing Mailbox to detect and route incoming
faxes.
8.1 47-14-07: Fax Detection on page 244.
-
Enter 1Y to enable Fax Detection; 0 to disable. If enabled, when the Directory Dialing
Mailbox detects incoming fax CNG tone, it routes the call to the fax extension specified
in 47-01-06: Fax Extension.
-
See
Fax Detection on page 80
for more.
✔By default, Fax Detection is disabled (N).
