Programming
Flexible Numbering Plan Example
Step 1 Optionally change the number of digits in extension numbers.
1.1 11-01-01: System Numbering
- Optionally change the number of digits required to reach each range of extensions.
By default, 3-digit extension numbers are 200-299, 300-399, 400-499, 600-699, 700-799,
900-999.
By default, 4-digit extension numbers are 5000-5999.
Step 2 Change the extension number associated with a port.
2.1 11-02-01 : Extension Numbering
- Assign extension numbers to extension ports. The telephone’s programming identity fol-
lows the port number - not the extension number.
By default, extension-to-port assignments are consecutive starting with 301 (e.g., port
1=extensin 301, port 2=extension 302, etc.).
Step 3 Change the mailbox number to match the new extension number.
3.1 47-02-02: Mailbox Number on page 200.
- Change the mailbox number to match the number of the new extension.
By default, mailbox numbers are consecutively assigned for the rst eight mailboxes (e.g.,
mailbox 1=mailbox number 301, mailbox 2=mailbox number 302, etc.).
Step 4 Modify the Dial Action Tables to accommodate the new numbering.
4.1 47-13-01: Dial Action Table Actions on page 236
- Optionally modify the active Dial Action Table actions for the new extension numbers.
- For example, to allow Automated Attendant callers to dial extension 5000, for digit 5:
- Change the Action to UTRF (2) or TRF (1).
- Change the Data to XXXX.
By default (in the above example), the digit 5 is undened.
