Programming
System Default Operation
When the system is rst powered up, or if a system reinitialization (Program
9999) is performed:
Trunks
In DS1000, trunks 1-6 (if installed) ring line keys 1-6.
Trunks 4-6 will only work if you have an Expansion Board installed.
In DS2000, there are no trunks enabled because there are no trunk PCBs
programmed.
After plugging in trunk PCBs, go to Using Program 9902 in DS2000
to Add or Delete PCBs on page 133. Also turn to Program 1801 -
Extension Port Description on page 138 to make the trunks ring
extensions.
All trunks (outside lines) are loop start DTMF.
If you have Dial Pulse lines, youll have to reprogram the trunk circuit
type. See Central Ofce Calls, Answering on page 147 or Central
Ofce Calls, Placing on page 152.
Keysets
The circuit types for keyset extensions 300-315 are automatically set when
the extension is plugged in.
If your system is prior to software version 02.02.14, you have to set the
extensions circuit type. See Program 1801 - Extension Port Descrip-
tion on page 138.
To add more DS2000 keysets, go to Using Program 9902 in DS2000
to Add or Delete PCBs on page 133.
Keyset users can place outside calls by pressing a line key and dialing the
outside number.
In DS1000, all extension users can also place outside calls by dialing 9
plus the outside number.
At the attendants extension (300), key 11 is the Night Key and the last
key on the phone (12 or 24 - depending on telephone model) is the Opera-
tor Call Key.
Pressing the Night Key puts the system in the night mode.
Use the Operator Call Key to answer incoming Intercom calls queued
at the attendants extension. The key winks (on) when calls are queued.
An unlimited number of Intercom callers can queue for the attendant.
The callers hear ringback while they wait for the attendant to answer
not busy tone.
