Central Ofce Calls, Placing
The system provides exibility in the way each extension user can place outgoing
trunk calls. A user can place a call by:
Pressing a Line Key
Any keyset can have line keys for one-touch access to specic trunks. The Line
Keys feature in the DS1000/2000 Software Manual has more information.
Pressing a Loop Key
Loop Keys provide a user with one-touch access to the assigned Loop Group.
Loop Groups can consist of one or more Trunk Groups. The Loop Keys fea-
ture in the DS1000/2000 Software Manual has more information.
Using Line Dial-Up
With Line Dial-Up, a user can select a specic trunk by pressing
ICM and dial-
ing the Line Dial-Up code (#9) followed by the trunk number (DS1000: 1-6,
DS2000: 1-48).
Using Direct Trunk Access
Direct Trunk Access allows a user to access a trunk by pressing
ICM and dial-
ing the trunks extension number (e.g., 401 for trunk 1, 402 for trunk 2. etc.).

more information.
Dialing a Trunk Group Access Code
Users can also place trunk calls by pressing
ICM and dialing a Trunk Group
Access Code (90-98). The Trunk Groups feature in the DS1000/2000 Soft-
ware Manual has more information.
Trunk Group Routing
If the system has Trunk Group Routing enabled, users get the rst available
trunk when the press ICM and dial 9. The Trunk Groups feature in the
DS1000/2000 Software Manual has more information.
Expanded Dial Buffering (02.01.07 or Higher)
When placing a trunk call, extension users can dial an unlimited number of digits.
Users are assured that they can use services such as telephone banking without
encountering restrictions imposed by the telephone system. In software versions
prior to 02.01.07, callers are restricted to dialing 32 digits maximum if they dialed
continuously.
Conditions
Systems using Trunk Groups or Trunk Group Access should use the hybrid
FCC registration number (i.e., the number that ends in MF-E). Look at the
label on the bottom of your equipment cabinet for more information.
Per FCC regulations, do not set 1001 - Trunk Transmit Gain higher than 0 dB.
