Setting the Clock
To change the date and time:
1. Unplug all components connected to the LIFEPAK 500 AED patient
connector.
2. Turn on the AED. (Be sure the AED has been off for at least 60 seconds.)
3. While the power is on
and the AED is not connected to a patient or a
simulator, press the UP ARROW or RIGHT ARROW key. (Monophasic operating
system versions 5.5 or later and biphasic versions 3.8 or later.) Press and
hold the
UP ARROW or RIGHT ARROW key for approximately three seconds. The
AED displays the date and time setting. The hour blinks on and off, indicating
that the number can be changed.
4. To change the displayed value:
– Press the
UP ARROW key to increase the value.
– Press the
RIGHT ARROW key to advance to the next field.
5. Repeat Step 4 as needed to set the minutes, seconds, day, month, and year.
Note: To reset the seconds value to zero, press the
UP ARROW key once. If the
value is less than 30 when reset, the minutes value stays the same. If the
seconds value is greater than 30 seconds when reset, the minutes value
increases by one.
6. After the date and time are set, press
ON/OFF to turn off the AED.
