TheRADWIN2000D+classradiosachievetheir700Mbpsthroughputbydrawingon
newtechnologydevelopedfortheRADWIN5000PointtoMultipointseries.Therefore
thesitesarenotsymmetrical.Thelocalsiteref erredtoearlier,usesabasestationradio
asthelink MasterODUandtheremotesiteusesasubscriberunitasthelinkSlaveODU.
TheMasterODUradioislabelledRT‐A(HBS)andtheSlaveODUlabelledRT‐B(HSU).RT
standsforRadioTerminal.
TheRT‐A(HBS)/RT‐B(HSU)andmaster/slaveterminologywillbeusedthroughoutthe
manualbothtodescribethetwolinksiteswithoutfurthercomment.
ThelinkisnormallyconfiguredandmanagedusingaPC,themanagingcomputer
connectedtotheMasterODU.(Thepreciserequirements forthemanagingcomputer
aresetoutinMinimumSystemRe quirements).ItmayalsobeconnectedtotheSlave
ODUeitherdirectlyorover‐the‐air.
Wewilloccasionallyneedtodistinguishbetweenthesitetowhichthemanaging
computerisconnected,andthesecondsite,whentheyarenotspecificallyRT‐A(HBS)or
RT‐B(HSU).Theformerwillbecalledthemanagingsit eandthelatter,theover‐the‐air
site.Whichiswhich,isalwaysdeterminedbythelocationofthemanagingcomputer.

•UplinktrafficisdatatransferfromanRT‐B(HSU)toanRT‐A(HBS).
• RADWIN2000D+supportsthreeconnectionmethodsforthemanaging computer:
