Set Passwords
Use the Set Passwords command to change the passwords assigned to each of the five
command menus. To increase the security of the Hand Reader, the password for any or
all menus can be changed to a new number, up to 10 digits long. This means that to
enter a command menu, a user must have the correct Authority Level (refer to
page 44) and must enter the correct password.
The following instructions demonstrate how to set the Security Mode password to
6225.
1. When you enter the Set Password command the Hand Reader’s display appears as
follows.
2. Press to exit the command menu.

3. Press to skip to the Clear Memory command.
– or –
4. Press to set Passwords. The display appears as follows.
5. Press to keep the existing password and skip to the next password entry.
– or –
6. Press to set the new Security Mode password. The display
appears as follows.
7. Press to keep the existing password and skip to the next password entry.
