1.9 FROST PROTECTION WHEN GLYCOL IS MIXED INTO THE SYSTEM WATER
Based on its factory settings, the heat pump already provides a frost protection function which involves starting Pump 1 and/or starting the heat pump
during heating, according to multiple start-up thresholds based on outdoor temperature, water temperature and its start-up condition.
If a certain amount of mono ethylene glycol is mixed into the water in the system, the frost protection start-up temperatures can be lowered. Accordin-
gly, a frost protection function has been implemented in the USER INTERFACE, with settable start-up thresholds.
Fig. 7: To disable the machine's internal frost protection control, set the switches on For1.
Before starting this function it is necessary, however, to switch off the "factory set" frost protection as follows:
Take the front/side panel off of the heat pump.
Find the “PCB Main Display”
Based on the factory setting, “dip switch 1” is ON, and therefore frost protection is enabled.
Set “dip switch 1” on OFF.
