1. Safety Precautions

WARNING
Confirm that the caps and O-rings of reagent bottles are installed properly. Also check
if the connection port (coupler) to the main body is correctly installed.
If the instrument is operated when the reagent bottle caps, O-rings and coupler are not installed properly,
vaporized reagent may leak and catch fire and result in fire. Also, tissue processing may not be completed
properly.
Securely tighten the caps on reagent bottles and connect the paraffin containers. Also,
securely close the paraffin oven door.
When connecting the reagent bottles and paraffin containers to the instrument, push them all the way in.
Tissue processing may not be completed properly. Also, reagent may leak and result in fire.
Only the specified reagents can be used with this instrument.
If any other reagent is used, processing may not be performed properly and fire or failure may result.
Do not use acetone, benzine, toluene or chloroform. Do not use fixing solutions that contain mercury salt,
acetic aid or picric acid that corrodes metals.

Do not put too much reagent or paraffin.
Reagent or paraffin may overflow and the processing may be discontinued. Add no more than the specified
amount of reagent or paraffin so as not to damage the tissues.
If buffered formalin is used, be sure to clean the tubing regularly.
If the tubing is not cleaned, the circuit may clog and result in failure. Other problems may also occur that will
damage the tissues.
Do not clean the embedding plates, basket transport trays, etc., using the cleaning
program for this instrument.
Cleaning solution may deteriorate quickly which prevents proper cleaning. Also, clogged tubing or
remaining regent may cause fire.
Do not forcibly remove the paraffin containers when the instrument is cold.
The instrument may be damaged.
Do not put anything other than paraffin in the paraffin container.
Fire or failure may occur.
Do not move the instrument while reagent or molten paraffin is set in it.
If the instrument is moved while reagent or molten paraffin is set in it, the reagent may leak or paraffin may
overflow. When moving the instrument, remove the paraffin container/reagent bottles first. When moving
the instrument, contact the Sakura Finetek Technical Support representative or local representative.
