Redundant dual-channel outputs in different groups in conjunction with dual-channel shutdown circuit
Safety instructions:
• For the safety-related assessment of the output sub-system, the data from the
manufacturer (MTTFD, FIT figures, B10d value, etc.) must be used when using external
elements in the shutdown circuit, e.g. for increasing the switching rating.
• The DC values stated in the table should be used conservatively and compliance with
the boundary conditions (see "Comments" in table) ensured.
• Fault exclusions are allowed according to the applicable standards. The boundary
conditions listed are to be ensured over the long-term.
• When using elements for increasing the switching rating in safety circuits, the function of
these elements must be monitored using suitable readback contacts, etc. (see example
circuits). Suitable readback contacts are contacts that are forced to switch with the
contacts in the shutdown circuit.
• The switching ability of the external switching amplifier must be checked cyclically. The
interval between two tests is to be defined to suit the requirement based on the
application and safeguarded by means of suitable measures. Suitable measures can be
of an organisational (switching off and on at the start of the shift etc.) or technical
(automatic, cyclic switching) nature.
