The viewing window lens must be kept clean and dry during operation.
NOTE
Static charging may cause dust particles to stick to the viewing window. This effect can
be avoided by using an anti-static cleaning agent in combination with the SICK lens
cloth.
The viewing window is made of plastic, see "Technical data", page 51.
Cleaning procedure:
►
Switch off the device for the duration of the cleaning operation. If this is not
possible, use suitable laser protection goggles. These must absorb radiation of the
device’s wavelength effectively.
►
Clean the viewing window only with a clean, damp, lint-free cloth, and a mild
anti-static lens cleaning fluid.
NOTICE
If the inspection window is scratched or damaged (cracked or broken), the lens must be
replaced. Contact SICK Support to arrange this.
■
If the inspection window is cracked or broken, take the device out of operation
immediately for safety reasons and have it repaired by SICK.
Cleaning the housing
In order to ensure that heat is adequately dissipated from the device, the housing
surface must be kept clean.
►
Clear the build up of dust on the housing with a soft brush.
