M90 Fusion Splicer 7-6 Operating Instructions
Troubleshooting and Care/Maintenance Issue 02/97
Activating the LID profile display
- Select "LID profile display" with button
.
- Activate "LID profile display" with button .
Examples for assessing the splice parameters
Note
For optimization trials on application-specific parameter sets use only the parameter
sets 2 to 5. Do not change the first parameter set if you can avoid it! If you cannot ob-
tain optimum parameters, you can then at least continue with the first parameter set
(default / standard set).
If the splicing proceeds normally, the following curve is typically displayed on the moni-
tor:
1234
1 Z positioning
2 Reference value recording
3 Splice
4 Reference value
Normal Splice Sequence
During the Z positioning the level rises in an oscillatory manner with increasing ampli-
tude. Then the reference value is determined. During the subsequent fusion process the
level rises continuously and then quickly reaches a maximum.
If the splice does not proceed optimally, the following curve, for example, may appear
on the monitor.
125 6
1 Z positioning
2 Reference value recording
3 Splice
4 Attenuation optimization
