3. Visually inspect the O-Ring for debris or unusual wear and tear such as
cracks.
4. If the O-Ring requires replacement, follow the Install O-Ring option
from the Maintenance menu to install a new O-Ring. Discard the old O-
Ring in a suitable biohazard container.
5. Shake excess distilled or deionized water off, dry the O-Ring with a lint-
free cloth and install the O-Ring by performing the Install O-Ring option
from the Maintenance menu.
6. Perform the Self Test from the Maintenance menu to verify that the
system has no vacuum leak.
If problems persist, contact Siemens service.
11.3.2 Removing the O-Ring
To remove the O-Ring, proceed as follows:
1. From the System Ready display, press the softkey located next to
Menus.
False results due to missing O-Ring.
False results can lead to misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment.
• Perform the following work steps thoroughly.
Note: The self test must be performed from the Maintenance menu.
Vacuum leak problems or the error Maximum Syringe Travel
Reached (see Table 12-5) may indicate that an O-Ring has been
installed but incorrectly positioned.
If such messages appear, remove and reinstall the O-Ring.
Note: The Run and Run Control functions are disabled after
completion of the options Remove O-Ring and Install O-Ring.
