12.6 Other status messages
The following list of messages is uniquely associated with the events or conditions detected during a test run.
Status messages Causes Solutions
CAROUSEL DRIVE
FAILURE-PLEASE CHECK FOR
OBSTRUCTIONS
Something is preventing the carousel from
rotating.
1. Remove any PFA test cartridge, cassette or any other cause
generating the obstruction.
2. Press the softkey located next to Retry.
CAROUSEL DRIVE FAIL Same as above, after three retries. 1. Turn the system off, then on to reset the instrument.
2. If the problem persists, contact Siemens service.
INCUBATION SYSTEM FAIL The heater block is not heating properly. 1. Contact Siemens Service.
MAIN MEMORY ERROR An error occurred in the system operating
program.
1. Perform a reset by turning the analyzer off and then back on.
2. If the problem persists, contact Siemens Service.
MAXIMUM PID LENGTH
EXCEEDED
The patient ID entered via the barcode
scanner exceeds the maximum length of
12 characters.
1. Abbreviate patient ID to 12 or less characters and enter using the
analyzer keypad.
TYPE CODE CALIBRATION
REQUIRED
The analyzer has detected a problem with the
type code sensor.
Warning: False results due to mix-up of test types in the instrument
software
1. Do not use the results for diagnosis while the problem persists.
2. Contact Siemens Service.
AIL CALIBRATION REQUIRED The analyzer has detected a problem with the
Air-in-Line sensor.
1. Contact Siemens Service.
PREVIOUS TRIGGER PRIME
CANCELLED-PRIME SYSTEM
FROM MAINTENANCE MENU
The analyzer has detected that a trigger
priming sequence has not been successfully
completed.
1. Refer to Chapter 11.2 for instructions.
PRINTER FAIL The printer cannot be initialized by the
analyzer.
1. Contact Siemens Service.
