11.2 Priming the system
To prime the system, proceed as follows:
1. Locate the priming cartridge provided for priming the system (this
cartridge is blue and does not have a top foil seal or a cup).
2. Snap the priming cartridge into the cassette.
3. From the System Ready display, press the softkey located next to
Menus.
Delay of results due to air in the trigger solution path.
Minor or moderate injury to the patient can result.
• Prime the system after any extended period (> 2 days) of non-use.
• After priming the system, perform a self test and a daily alignment check
for trigger solution dispensing.
Contamination of the incubation block with trigger solution due to a
defective priming cartridge.
• Check that the aluminum foil at the bottom of the priming cartridge is
intact.
• Check the priming cartridge for scratches, marks, or dirt and replace or
clean it if required.
• Change the priming cartridges periodically, depending on their
condition.
Note: The priming procedure will clear the system of any accumulated
bubbles caused by the release of gases from the trigger solution.
Note: Use only one priming cartridge in either position A or B.
