4 Quick reference guide
The quick reference guide contains the steps of a routine run on the PFA-
100 System from switching on the analyzer, preparation of the samples and
the analyzer up to printing out the results of the samples and switching the
analyzer off again.
Switching on the analyzer 1. Switch on the analyzer at the power switch on the back of the analyzer
(if already switched on, start with the next step).
The analyzer initializes and heats the incubation block.
Carrying out Self Test 1. Select Menu > Maintenance > Self Test.
2. Follow the instructions on the display (place a vacuum cup in blue
priming cartridge in position A and B, moisten the cleaning pad with
isopropanol before loading).
3. When Self Test is completed, check the print out. For the self test refer
to Chapter 9.1.
CAUTION
Touching the analyzer carousel while it is turning may result in
pinching of fingers.
Minor or moderate injury can result.
Always wait until the measurement has finished before inserting or
removing cartridges.

detailed instructions for use, refer to the following chapters of this
instruction manual.

Note: If the instrument has not been in use for a longer period of time
(>7 days), clean the O-Ring as described in Cleaning O-Ring manually
on page 4-2 and in Chapter 11.3.4.
