2. Place the PFA test cartridge(s) in the cassette and push until the PFA
test cartridge(s) securely snap(s) in place.
3. Mix the blood sample by inverting the collection tube gently by hand
3-4 times.
4. Pipette 800 µL of blood into the smaller opening (sample reservoir
opening) of the PFA test cartridge by dispensing slowly along one of the
inside corners.
5. Start the test: Run.
6. Type in the sample ID.
When testing is completed, results are printed out automatically.
Disposal of used PFA test
cartridge(s)
1. Dispose of the PFA test cartridge in a suitable biohazard waste
container.
No result or delay of results due to missing blood sample or incorrect
preparation of blood samples.
Minor or moderate injury to the patient can result.
• Make sure to have the blood sample properly pipetted into the PFA test
cartridge.
When a PFA test cartridge is processed without a blood sample, the
PFA test cartridge will be unusable afterwards.
• Make sure the blood sample is pipetted into the PFA test cartridge.
False results due to problems with the type code sensor or the
readability of the type codes on the PFA test cartridges. This can
cause a mix-up of test types in the instrument software.
False results can lead to misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment.
• Do not use the results obtained whenever the status message TYPE
CODE CALIBRATION REQUIRED or INVALID CARTRIDGE TYPE
DETECTED is displayed.
• Remeasure the samples concerned when the issue is solved.
