124 System Manual, 01/2013, A5E03461182-01
Special feature at a firmware update of analog modules
If you want to carry out a firmware update for analog modules, you have to supply 24 VDC
load supply to the module through the power supply element.
Procedure
1. Remove any inserted SIMATIC memory card.
2. Insert the SIMATIC memory card with the firmware update files into the CPU.
3. The firmware update begins shortly after the SIMATIC memory card has been plugged.
The display indicates that the CPU is in STOP mode, and that a firmware update is being
executed (STOP [FW UPDATE]). It displays the progress of the firmware update.
Possibly occurring errors during the firmware update will likewise be displayed on the
display.
4. After a completed firmware update, the display indicates that you can remove the
SIMATIC memory card.
The RUN LED of the CPU lights up yellow, the MAINT LED flashes yellow.
Note
If your hardware configuration contains several modules, to which a firmware update from
the SIMATIC memory card can be applied, then the CPU updates all affected module in the
slot sequence, i.e. in increasing sequence of the module position in the STEP 7 device
configuration.
Reference
Further information on the procedure can be found in the STEP 7 online help.
