Special considerations: CPU as bus device
For the operation of a CPU, the following requirements must be noted:
● PROFIBUS interface (only at CPU 1516-3 PN/DP)
– The integrated PROFIBUS interface of the CPU is configured using STEP 7
(participant IP address and bus parameters configured).
– The CPU is connected to the subnet.
– The terminating resistors at the segment boundaries are switched on.
