2.1.2 eDAQ

Layers
Adding a Layer
CAUTION
Read through this section in its entirety prior to performing any steps. If any portion of
the installation process is not clear or is not comfortable to perform, ship the eDAQ
lite
to HBM customer service for the installation. If done improperly, the addition of new
layers can cause damage to the eDAQ
lite
stack and any damage is the sole
responsibility of the customer.
Adding a layer requires an eDAQ
lite
stack, the desired new layer and a #1 flat head
screwdriver.
To add a layer to an eDAQ
lite
stack:
1. Power down the eDAQ
lite
and disconnect the power supply.
2. Remove the eDAQ
lite
top plate by removing the flat-head screw at each corner.
3. Use the screwdriver to remove two diagonally-opposite corner posts.
4. Remove layers as necessary to reach the desired position within the stack.
5. Set the layer address using the jumpers. For more information on eDAQ
lite
layer
addresses, see “Layer Addressing” on page 25.
6. Press the layer and ring onto the eDAQ
lite
stack. Use care not to put undue strain
on the layer. Repeat for each layer as necessary until all layers are attached.
NOTE
One O-ring or gasket must be present under each layer and top lid. Newer,
CE-compliant layers contain an O-ring installed in a groove on the bottom of the layer
or lid while older layers use a foam gasket and have no groove. Be careful to use the
correct O-ring or gasket and to use only one.
7. Replace and hand tighten the two corner posts previously removed.
8. Tighten all four corner posts with the screwdriver.
9. Place the top plate on the stack and secure it using the four flat-head screws. Be
careful not to scratch the top.
10.Reconnect the eDAQ
lite
to the power supply.
