Routine operation maintenance procedures described in Routine Operator Maintenance and must be performed
regularly at the indicated intervals. For Preventive Maintenance, note the following:
1. Regular service and maintenance MUST be performed only by STERIS or STERIS-trained technician. Any work
performed by inexperienced or unqualified persons or installation of unauthorized parts could cause personal
injury, invalidate warranty or result in costly damage.
2. Under no circumstance should this equipment be serviced without the Maintenance Manual. Maintenance
Manual can be purchased by contacting STERIS Customer Service.
3. A detailed Preventive Maintenance schedule and replacement parts list can be found in Maintenance Manual.
4. Preventive Maintenance is essential in keeping this equipment in optimal working condition. STERIS
recommends establishing an annual maintenance agreement with STERIS service.
NOTE: For preventive maintenance, note the following:
• Maintain a record of all maintenance procedures performed on this machine.
• If a problem occurs, refer to Troubleshooting.
• See Recommended Spare Parts for replacement parts.
• For vacuum pump oil and exhaust filters, minimum recommended frequency of replacement is bi-annual or every
1000 cycles

• Preventive Maintenance is not covered under warranty.
8.8 Vacuum Pump Maintenance Indicator
The control alerts the user when the vacuum pump oil and filters need changed as follows:
• The Preventive Maintenance and STERIS recommendation is every six months or 1000 Sterilization Cycles. After
154 days or 900 cycles (90% of required cycles), the Yellow Oil Can appears on display.
• After pump has operated 180 days or 1000 cycles, the oil can changes to red.
