Operation
6.1 Introduction
IMPORTANT: A listing of the Safety Precautions to be observed when operating and servicing this
equipment and/or handling the Sterilant Cups can be found in Safety Precautions of this manual. Do not
operate or service the equipment or handle the Sterilant Cups until you have been trained on this
information.
6.2 Advisory
Uses other than as specified and described are not recommended, may not be effective in Sterilization and may not be
safe. Please contact STERIS for appropriate guidance, in-service and training.
This Low Temperature Sterilization Unit is specifically designed to process goods using only the cycles presented in this
manual (refer to The Sterilization Cycles). Consult medical device’s instructions for use regarding device
compatibility before sterilizing in this Low Temperature Sterilization System.
NOTE: A Lumen Cycle is approximately 52 minutes in duration. The Non Lumen Cycle is
approximately 28 minutes in duration. The Fast Non Lumen Cycle is approximately 16 minutes in
duration. The Flexible Cycle is approximately 35 minutes in duration. Some factors that could
increase the cycle time:
Residual moisture in the load.
Load mass and composition.
Load mass and composition.
Chamber leak rate (refer to Leak Test).
6.3 Preliminary Information
CAUTION
POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
This Low Temperature Sterilization System should NOT be used to Sterilize liquids,
linens, powders, or cellulose materials (refer to Material Compatibility).
The Low Temperature Sterilization System is specifically designed to process goods using only the cycles presented in
this manual (refer to The Sterilization Cycles). Consult medical device’s instructions or the V-PRO Device
Compatibility Matrix at www.steris.com.
NOTE: Refer to Component Identification of this manual for descriptions of the Sterilization
System controls and Appendix B for Supervisor Operation.

The system utilizes specially designed disposable cartridges (available separately) containing proprietary Sterilant.
