2WD/4WD SHIFTING PINION AND SWITCH
• Remove the 4WD switch
1 and 2WD switch
2.
• Remove the 2WD/4WD shifting pinion
3.
2WD/4WD SWITCHES INSPECTION !8-24.
FRONT DRIVE (DIFFERENTIAL) GEAR CASE
• Remove the front drive (differential) gear case cover bolts in a
crisscross pattern.
• Remove the differential assembly and shims.

• Remove the bearings from the differential assembly with a
commercially available bearing puller.
NOTE:
If there is no abnormal condition, the bearing removal is not nec-
essary.

* Do not attempt to disassemble the differential
assembly.
* The differential is available only as an assembly.
The removed bearing must be replaced with a new
one.
