Installing an Authorization Key
If you replac e your PC Interface board or add a new option, you must install a
new authorization key, using the following procedure:
1. From the oscil l osc ope menu bar, click the Utilities menu, select Option
Installation,andthenclickContinue.
2. Enter the ne w key using an attached keyboard.
3. Click Continue.
Hard Disk Drive Maintenance
Use the same procedures to maintain the oscilloscope hard disk drive that you
use to mainta i n a hard disk drive in a personal computer.
Using ScanDisk, at t e m pt to fix the disk wi t hout destroying data on the disk. To
use ScanDisk, perf or m the following steps:
1. Power on the oscilloscope and run ScanDisk. Set ScanDisk to perform a
thorough surface scan and to automatically fix errors.
! Using Microsoft Windows 2000 select St a r t \ Pr ogr a m s\ Ac c e ssor i e s\ Sys-
tem Tools\ScanDisk
! Using Microsoft MSDOS: enter SCANDISK drive: /SURFACE
/AUTOFIX
2. If ScanDisk wil l not repair the disk, format the hard disk dri ve using the File
Utilities Format command. Format will destroy all data currently on the disk.
3. If reformatting the hard disk and reloa di ng the software will not repair the
disk, install a new hard disk drive.
