Section 3 – SR-2 Software Description
OptiSet Menu
OptiSet Unit Operation
Specified control point values are fully adjustable
within the range shown for each value. This allows
unit performance to be optimized for individual
customer load requirements.
The OptiSet™ Temperature Management System
allows up to ten different temperature ranges to be
defined and tailored for maximum operating
efficiency, as determined by customer load
requirements. The term “OptiSet” refers to both the
programmable ranges and the features that can be
tailored as shown below.
Cycle Sentry control points are only programmable
within a range if Cycle Sentry mode is turned On
and Economy mode is turned Off. Continuous mode
values are only programmable within a range if
Continuous mode is turned On and Economy mode
is turned Off.
OptiSet can be tailored to customer requirements in
two ways.
Using the OptiSet Setup Guide software
installed on a PC computer
Some of these default values may be globally
modified using the Programmable Features menu if
OptiSet is not active. These values can no longer
be changed from the Programming Menu if OptiSet
is in use. If they are accessed when OptiSet is
active the display will show "Programmed in
OptiSet" and the feature cannot be modified from the
Programmable Features menu.
Using the HMI Control Panel keypad
OptiSet Levels of Operation
Three levels of unit operation are possible, the last
of which is OptiSet.
Standard Unit Operation
Standard control point default values for both Cycle
Sentry mode and Continuous mode are used to
control unit operation. There is one set of control
point values for frozen range setpoints and a second
set of control points for fresh range setpoints.
Programming OptiSet Features
The OptiSet features are programmed using the
OptiSet Setup Guide or manually from the OptiSet
Menu. The flowchart on the next page illustrates the
features and menu flow. Each feature is discussed
fully in the following pages.
Some of these default values may be globally
modified using the Programmable Features menu if
OptiSet is not active. These values can no longer
be changed from the Programming Menu if OptiSet
is active. If they are accessed when OptiSet is
active the display will show "Programmed in
OptiSet" and the feature cannot be modified from
the Programmable Features menu.
For ease in understanding when programming
manually, features are now defined as being turned
On or Off. Terms such as Yes/No, Forced and
Enabled/Disabled are not used. Feature range
values are programmable when required. Only valid
programmable features will be displayed as
determined by the setting of Economy Mode, Cycle
Sentry Mode and Continuous Mode. If a feature is
not allowed, it will not be displayed.
Economy Mode Unit Operation
A relaxed set of control point values for both Cycle
Sentry mode and Continuous mode are used to
control unit operation. This results in increased fuel
economy. There is one set of control point values
for frozen range setpoints and a second set of
control points for fresh range setpoints.
The only feature that can be modified in Economy
Mode operation is door switch operation. Seperate
settings can be selected for Cycle Sentry and
Continuous mode. All other features are defined by
Economy Mode and cannot be modified. For
details of Economy Mode operation see Section
7.
