passesrespectivelyandthelimitvalueisplottedonthechartasahorizontallineatthatcurrentlevelforreferencepurposes.
Note:
Thehorizontalscaleofthischartisalwaystime,andisalwaysscaledwiththestartoftheassessmentattheleftendandthe
configuredendoftheassessmentattherightend.Iftheassessmentwasstoppedpriortotheconfiguredendingtimethenthe
chartwillnothavedatashownencompassingtheentirehorizontalspanofthechart,onlyforthetimeoftheactual
assessment.
Thechartalwayshasazerovalueatthebottomoftheverticalaxis,andautomaticallyselectsasuitable1/2/5basedvaluefor
theupperlimitfortheverticalaxistoensurethatthetrace(includingthatforthelimitifapplicable)isentirelyshown.
ThischartisprovidedtoassistyouindeterminingfactorscausingthefailureornotofaEUTtomeettherequirementsofthe
standards.Thecharteddatashownisnotactuallythatusedtodeterminethepass/failstatus,asthatencompassesdatain
moredetailthancanbeshownonsuchachart.
Individualharmonicsareallowedtobeabovethelimitformoderateperiodsoftime,andbycertainamounts,andmaybe
completelydisregarded,soitisvalidtoseeindividualharmonicschartedabovethelimitlinebutwithanassessmentstatusof
PASS.Seethestandardsfordetailsregardinghowlimitsareapplied(EN61000‐3‐2clause6.2.3.4orEN61000‐3‐12clause
4.2.5).
18.4.5 CHANGINGTHECONFIGURATIONANDREASSESSINGTHE EUT
IfyoupresstheREASSESSbutton,eitherduringanassessment,orafteronehascompleted,thenthisinitiatestheconfiguration
screensimilartopressingtheASSESSbutton,andallowsyoutochangeanyoftheSUPPLYorEUTDETAILSsectionentriesbutdoes
notallowchangestotheTIMINGsectionentries.WhentheRETURNbuttonispressedtheassessmentresultsscreenisreturnedto
withallassessmentresultsnowdisplayedusingthenewlyenteredconfiguration.
Aspreviouslymentioned,duringanassessmenttheXT2640makesandrecordsallmeasurementsasneededtoperforman
assessmentoftheEUTtoanyoftheclassificationsandwithanyreferencelevel(s).
18.4.6 CONTINUING A PAUSEDASSESSMENT
Ifanassessmenthasbeenconfiguredtobeperformedinmorethan1interval,thentheXT2640willautomaticallypausean
assessmentwheneachoftheintervalshasbeencompleted(exceptforthelastonewhenitwillstop).Inthiscasethereisan
additionalbuttonshownacrossthetopofthescreenwhichisentitledCONTINUEwhichisonlyshownwhiletheXT2640ispausedin
thismanner.WhiletheCONTINUEbuttonisshown,youshouldchangetheEUTconditionsaccordingtotheinstructionsinthe
standardandthenpresstheCONTINUEbuttontostartthenextintervalwhichwillbestartedimmediately.
Inthismannereachintervalhasanidenticalassessmenttimeandallmeasurementswhilepausedaredisregardedasnotbeingpart
oftheassessment.Thechartacrossthebottomofthescreenshowsonlytheassessedmeasurementswithnogapsbetween
intervals,verticallinesareshowningoldseparatingtheintervalswithintheassessmentforyourreference.
Recommendation:
Youmustensurethatthe1.5secondfilteringrequiredbythestandardshasfullysettledpriortocontinuinganassessment
inthismannersotheEUTmusthavebeenoperatingunderthechangedconditionsforatleast10secondspriorto
continuingtheassessment,theXT2640doesnotenforcethisandthisappearstohavebeenoverlookedinthestandards.
18.4.7 STOPPINGANASSESSMENT
AnassessmentinprogressisdenotedontheASSESSEUTscreenbytheASSESSbuttonbeinghighlightedwithagreencolor.While
highlightedanassessmentmaybemanuallystoppedbypressingtheASSESSbutton.Thisdoesnotabortanassessmentbutstopsit
justasifthetesttimehadelapsed.
Note:
ThismaybeusefulifyouarenotsureiftheEUThasstablecharacteristicssohavesetalengthytesttime,butsubsequently
discoverduringtheassessmentthattheEUTisstablesotheassessmentmaybeshortenedandstillmeettherepeatability
requirements.
ThereisnolossofaccuracyorlackofconformancetostandardsintheXT2640itselfbyshorteningasingleinterval
assessmentinthismanner.Howeverthechartshownonthescreenandthehistoricalrecordscontainedinthereportfile
arescaledtotheconfiguredtotalassessmenttimesoyourabilitytousethosetoobtaintiminginformationisreducedin
resolution(thisdataisnotrequiredbyastandard).
Generally,anassessmentbeingperformedinmultipleintervalsshouldnotbestoppedinthismannerunlessitiswishedto
discarditsresults.Doingsowillresultinashortenedintervalwhichisnotthesameasprecedingintervalsandany
remainingintervalsarenotperformedatallsointhecaseofmultipleintervalstheassessmentwillnotbetothe
requirementsofthestandards.
Thereisasituationwhereitisvalidtousethismethodofstoppinganassessmentwithmultipleintervalshowever;ifthe
assessmentpauseswiththeCONTINUEbuttonbeingshown(soisattheendofaninterval)andyourealizethatthe
numberofintervalsconfiguredisincorrectandsufficientintervalshaveactuallybeenperformed,thenyoucanstopthe
assessmentatthistimeandmeettherequirementsofthestandards.
18.4.8 RECORDINGTHERESULTSOFANASSESSMENT
AfteranassessmenthasbeenperformedthenanadditionalbuttonentitledREPORTisshownintherightmostpositionatthetopof
