Throughoutthissection,“requirement”isusedtodescribetheavionicsindustrydocumentdefiningthetestingbeingperformed(see
thelistbelowforthosespecificallyreferredtointhisdocument),“equipment”isusedtodescribetheequipmentbeingtestedtoone
oftheserequirements,and“supply”isusedtodescribethepowersupply(orsupplies)beingusedtoprovidethepowertothat
equipment.
TheXT2640maybeabletobeusedfortestingequipmenttootheravionicsrequirementsbyusingthegeneralmethodsdescribedin
thissection,butthissectionisspecificallytailoredfortestingperformedtothefollowingrequirements‐

ThissectiondescribesusingtheXT2640duringseveraltestsdefinedbytherequirements.Ifthissectiondoesnotlista
specifictestthenthisdoesnotindicatethattheXT2640isincapableofassistingyouintheexecutionofthattest,itonly
indicatesthatitmaybeoflimiteduseorthatXiTRONhasnotevaluatedtheuseoftheXT2640tothatrequirement.For
example,theSCOPEorHISTORYcapabilitiesmaybeofuseinmanyteststeps.
20.1 CONNECTINGTHEXT2640
ForalltestscarriedouttotheserequirementstheXT2640shouldbeconnectedusingoneofthemethodsdescribedinsection9.
Generallyeitherthe1‐phaseor3‐phase4‐wiremethodswillbeusedfortheseapplications,correspondingtothesupplybeingused
bytheequipment.
Insomecasesyoumaybeprovidingtheequipmentwithmorethanonesupply.TheXT2640canbeconfiguredtousemultipleVPAs,
onepersupply,withthechannelsofeachVPAconnectedaccordingly.TheXT2640willthenmonitoreachsupplyindependentlyand
itnotrequiredthateachsupplyhavethesamefrequency.Thissectionhasbeenwrittenassumingthatonlysinglesupplyisbeing
tested.
20.2 CONFIGURINGTHEMEASUREMENTSMADEBYTHEXT2640
ThemeasurementconfigurationoftheXT2640variesslightlybetweenrequirements,andvarieswithwhetheranACoraDCsupply
isbeingusedbytheequipment.
Forcertainspecificteststheconfigurationmayrequiretobealteredfromthatshowninthissub‐section;wherethatisnecessaryitis
detailedinthespecificsub‐sectionforthattest.
Thesub‐sectionsbelowindicatethesettingsfortheMEASCONFIGscreenfor3‐phase,1‐phaseandDCsupplies.
Thechannelsshownbelowareexamples,inpracticeselecttheactualchannelsbeingusedforthesupply.
Iftestingmultiplesupplies,thenconfiguretheMEASMODEtoMULTI‐VPAandconfigureeachVPAforeachsupplytype.
