20.4.1 TESTINGTHELOAD CURRENT DISTORTIONMEETSREQUIREMENTS
TheXT2640maybeusedtoconfirmthatthesupplyvoltageandfrequencyareasrequired,andtheloadcurrentiswithinthe
distortionlimits.
Note:
InthereportingrequirementsofDO160E/F/Gitisstatedthattheloadcurrentharmonicsmustbereported,butitisalso
statedthatthespectrumoftheloadcurrentmustbereported.Itisassumedthatthisisintendedtobeeither,notbothas
written,astheyallowtheuseofeithertypeofequipmentanddonotrequireboth.Ifbotharerequiredthenthespectrum
mayalsobemeasuredandrecordedusingthemethodsshowninsection12.13iftheXT2640hasoptionH500installed.
Thereareseveralreportingrequirementsforthistest,eachofwhichrequiresaspecificscreentoview.Thesearedescribedinthe
followingsub‐sections.
20.4.1.1 VIEWINGTHEVOL TAGEANDCURREN TWAVEFORMS
ThevoltageandcurrentwaveformscanbeviewedusingtheSCOPE–CYCLEVIEWscreenconfiguredtoshowthedesiredvoltages
andcurrents(allthreephasesofvoltageandcurrentcanbedisplayedtogetherifdesired).
20.4.1.2 VIEWINGTHEVOL TAGEANDCURREN THARMONICS
ThevoltageandcurrentharmonicscanbeviewedusingtheHARMONICSscreen.Thereisnoneedtoviewtheharmonicstobeable
torecordthem,butitisrecommendedtodosotocheckthatthemeasurementisbeingmadeproperly.Thisscreencanbeusedto
viewallofthevoltageorcurrentharmonicsgraphicallyforanyphaseofthesupplywithavarietyofformats,andalsoprovidesa
scrollablenumericallistingshowingupto8harmonicsatatime.
20.4.1.3 VIEWINGTHELOADINPUTCURRENT
ThisisperformedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenwhichshouldbeselectedtodisplaytheresultsforentireVPA(i.e.theentire
supply),showingtheCOUPLEDdata,andshowingthefullDETAILEDinformation.
Theprimarydata(showninlarger,goldcoloredtext)forvoltageandcurrentshowstheaverageofthephasevoltagesandcurrents
fromthesupply(fora1‐phasesupplythereisonlyasinglephase).
Thesecondarydata(showninasmaller,whitecoloredtext)forvoltageandcurrentliststhevoltagesandcurrentsfromeachphase
fromthesupply(fora1‐phasesupplythereisonlyasinglephase).
Thefrequencyshowsthesupplyfrequency.
20.4.1.4 VIEWINGTHESUPPYVOLTAGETHDANDLOADCURRENTTHD
ThisisperformedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenwhichshouldbeselectedtodisplaytheresultsforeachchannel,showingthe
FUNDAMENTALdata,andshowingthefullDETAILEDinformation.
Inthesecondarydata(showninasmaller,whitecoloredtext)forvoltageandforcurrentisameasurementresultentitledTHDf.
Thisisthepercentagedistortioncontentreferencedtothefundamentalcomponentofthesupplyvoltageandcurrentforthephase
beingviewed.

TheXT2640maybeusedtoconfirmthattheloadphaseimbalanceisasrequired.
ThisisperformedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenwhichshouldbeselectedtodisplaytheresultsforentireVPA(i.e.theentire
supply),showingtheCOUPLEDdata,andshowingthefullDETAILEDinformation.
Theprimarydata(showninlarger,goldcoloredtext)forvoltageandcurrentshowstheaverageofthephasevoltagesandcurrents
fromthesupply(fora1‐phasesupplythereisonlyasinglephase),theprimarydataforW,VA,VARandPFshowthetotalvaluesfor
theentiresupply.
Thesecondarydata(showninasmaller,whitecoloredtext)liststhemeasurementsforeachphasefromthesupply(fora1‐phase
supplythereisonlyasinglephase).
Thefrequencyshowsthesupplyfrequency.
ThedisplayedVAisthe“apparentpower(volts‐amps)”requirement.ThedisplayedWisthe“realpower(watts)”requirement.The
displayedVARisthe“reactivepower(vars)”requirement.Thevaluesforeachphasecanbecheckedagainsttherequirement.

ThisisperformedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenwhichshouldbeselectedtodisplaytheresultsforeachchannel,showingthe
COUPLEDdata,andshowingthefullDETAILEDinformation.
Inthesecondarydata(showninasmaller,whitecoloredtext)forcurrentisameasurementresultentitledDC.ThisistheDCcontent
oftheloadcurrentforthephasebeingviewed.
20.4.4 TESTINGTHELOAD INRUSH CURRENTMEETSREQUIREMENTS
TheXT2640maybeusedtoconfirmthattheloadinrushcurrentisasrequired.
ThisisperformedusingtheInrushCurrentCapabilityoftheSCOPEVIEWscreenasdescribedinsection12.14.1.
Thetimebasemustbesettocoveralongenoughperiodtoensurethefullrequirementsaremet(2secondsforDO160F,so0.5s/div
witha25%triggerpositionisrecommended),andyouwillhavetozoomintothesmallertimeperiodsandchecktheloadcurrent
accordingly.
