A12kHzfixedfrequencybandwidthlimitsettingshouldbesetbyusingtheUSERchoiceandsetting12kHzasthelimit.
20.3 USINGTHE XT2640TOMONITORTHESUPPLY
Theserequirementsallrequireequipmentbeingtestedtomeetperformancerequirementswhilebeingsubjectedtovariouslevels,
frequencies,anddisturbancestothesupplybeingusedtopowerit.Inmostcasesyouwilluseapowersupply,possiblywithsome
othercircuitryorinstruments,toprovidetherequiredsupplytotheequipment.
TheXT2640canbeusedtomonitorthesupplytotheequipmenttoensurethatmostofthesetestsarebeingcarriedoutproperly
ratherthanjustrelyingonthesourceproducingthedesiredvoltage,frequencyandwaveform.
FortheseteststheXT2640isnotmakingameasurementoftheequipment,butisconfirmingthesupplybeingusedtopowerthe
equipment.WhetherthetestspassornotisnotdependentonmeasurementsmadebytheXT2640.

20.3.1 CONFIRMINGTHEVOLTAGE ANDFREQUENCYOFTHE SUPPLY
TheXT2640maybeusedtoconfirmthatthesupplyvoltageandfrequencyareasrequiredformanyoftheteststobeperformed.
ThisisperformedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenwhichshouldbeselectedtodisplaytheresultsfortheentireVPA(i.e.theentire
supply),showingtheCOUPLEDdata(sotheAC+DCortheDCdataisshownasconfiguredforthissupply),andshowingthefull
DETAILEDinformation.
Theprimarydata(showninlarger,goldcoloredtext)forvoltageandcurrentshowstheaverageofthephasevoltagesandcurrents
fromthesupply(fora1‐phaseorDCsupplythereisonlyasinglephase).
Thesecondarydata(showninasmaller,whitecoloredtext)forvoltageandcurrentliststhevoltagesandcurrentsfromeachphase
fromthesupply(fora1‐phaseorDCsupplythereisonlyasinglephase).Alsoincludedinthesecondarydataforvoltagearethe
inter‐phasephasemeasurements.
Thefrequencyshowsthesupplyfrequency(notshownforaDCsupply).
20.3.2 CONFIRMINGTHEVOLTAGE MODULATIONDEPTHOFTHESUPPLY
TheXT2640maybeusedtoconfirmthatthesupplyvoltagemodulationdepthisasrequiredforcertainoftheteststobeperformed.
Note:
Thebandwidthofthemeasurementmayhaveasevereimpactontheresultsobtained.Therequirementsdonotgenerally
stateanyspecificbandwidthforsuchameasurement,yetthisisameasurementofpeakvalueswhichareverydependent
onthemeasurementbandwidthbydefinition.YoumaywishtoaltertheMEASCONFIG‐BANDWIDTHsettingwhile
performingtheseteststoalowervalue(e.g.4kHz)toreducethebandwidthofthemeasurement.
TheXT2640cannotconfirmthefrequencycontentofthemodulation.
ItisrequiredthatthisvaluebemeasuredovermanymeasurementperiodsoftheXT2640(sogivingaresultforlowfrequency
modulation)thisisachievedbyusingthePOWERDATAscreenconfiguredtoshoweachchannel,andINRUSHdata.
Tousethisscreenfollowtheproceduredescribedbelow–
