7.5.4 Changing the work attachments
Various work attachments are available to achieve maximum utilization of the
machine for a variety of applications.
The machine can be equipped with a quick attach to shorten the time it takes to
change attachments.
When mounting a clamshell grab, slewable ditch-cleaning bucket or a hydraulic
rock breaker, an auxiliary control circuit is required. Additionally, a reduced-pressure
return (return directly to tank) may be required for hydraulic hammer operations.
Notice
Under certain circumstances, it is possible to use the work attachments of
predecessor models on our machines. If work attachments of predecessor
models are mounted, they may have to be adjusted and/or may be subject
to utilization restrictions. It is essential to consult your dealer before mounting
such a work attachment.
Danger due to heavy load
Machine parts may move by accident.
Danger of serious injuries.
Z Wear personal protective equipment.
Z Always begin by ensuring that work attachments will not tilt.
Z Do not enter the danger area.
Z After removing work attachments, secure them to prevent
them from tipping over.
Risk posed by mounting tools from other
manufacturers
Risk of machine damage.
Z When attaching tools from other companies, you must
observe the manufacturer specifications regarding
maximum and minimum operating pressure as well as the
permissible volume flows for the tool concerned.
Z It may consequently be necessary to carry out readjustments
(e.g., to the pressure relief valves).
Risk posed by dirt
Dirty bearing points can result in damage to the quick-
attach system.
Z Keep the bearing points on the quick-attach system and
work attachment free of dirt.
