7.1 DESCRIPTION OF BUTTONS IN MOTORTESTER SETUP - PARAM MENU
7.1.1 EDIT (SETUP) BUTTONS
(1) Change of values of individual menu items is carried out by using arrows situated on the right from
the value box.
(2) Number of cylinders: sets the real number of cylinders of the measured engine. 1 to 8 cylinders can
be set.
(3) Number of marks: indicates the number of marks on the flywheel of the engine crankshaft. It can be
set in the range from 1 to 255.
(4) Mark offset: indicates the shift of the mark in regard of the top dead centre of the crankshaft in degrees.
It can be set in the range 90°.
(5) 2 Stroke/4 Stroke: to simplify it, the engine type is determined (2-stroke or 4-stroke). However, from
the ignition aspect, the four-stroke engine without the ignition distributor with a double two-output coil
reacts as a two-stroke engine.
(6) Sensitivity: Here you can set the sensitivity of ignition or pressure sensor input.
It is recommended to change this value from the default value (=5) only in the case the engine speed
measurement is significantly irregular. By correcting and testing this value, you can eliminate this
problem. The degree 1 to 7 can be set.
(7) Speed sensor type:
a) Inductive (IND), semiconductor (SEM) or ignition (IGN) sensors can be selected for spark
ignition engines.
b) Inductive (IND), semiconductor (SEM) or pressure (PIE) sensors can be selected for diesel
engines.
(8) Type of HV coil: (this parameter can only be used with spark ignition engines).
A Simple or Double coil can be selected.
