16 Maintaining the G3435A/G3436A FPD
To Replace the FPD Ignitor
1 Gather the following:
• Ignitor replacement kit. (See “Consumables and Parts
for the FPD” on page 308.)
• Torx screwdrivers, T- 20 and T- 10
• 9/16- inch wrench
• Tweezers
2 Load the GC maintenance method and wait for the GC to
become ready.
3 Remove the vent tube assembly and cover. (See “To
Remove the FPD Vent Tube” on page 318.)
4 Loosen the collar screw (some have two screws) holding
the cable assembly to the ignitor. Remove the collar and
cable assembly.
5 Use a wrench to loosen and remove the glow plug.
Be careful! The detector may be hot enough to cause burns. If the
detector is hot, wear heat-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
