106 Chapter 3
Mode
Occupied Bandwidth Measurement
Mode
Exponential Sets the Avg Mode function to exponential. With exponential averaging mode,
each successive data acquisition is exponentially weighted and combined with the existing
average. This weights new data more than the old data, which facilitates tracking of slow
changing signals.
Repeat Sets
Avg Mode to the repeat function. Repeat averaging shows resulting data after
the selected number of sweeps has been averaged, then clears the data before repeating
the process.
NOTE With large average counts and/or slow traces, the trace from the last
completed result remains on the display while
Repeat averaging is
running – the trace is not updated until the last average count has been
reached.
Repeat Max Hold Sets
Avg Mode to repeat with max hold function. Repeat with max hold
captures and holds the highest magnitude data at the end of each sweep count.
NOTE With large average counts and/or slow traces, the trace from the last
completed result remains on the display while
Repeat Max Hold is
running – the trace is not updated until the last average count has been
reached. (Maximum data points are held with each consecutive sweep)
