Filter
Using the “Logarithmic” opon concentrates the histogram at the low end of the scale, providing a high con-
trast image with lile dynamic image. It tends to overall darken the imaeg, and is useful for increasing contrast
when your sample image is very light.
The “Exponenal” opon concentrates the histogram at the high end of the scale, and is useful for increasing
contrast in a very dark image.
Edge Enhance - The “Edge Enhance” set of lters are designed to provide addonal contrast for the edges of a
sample, rather than enhancing the total image overall. These are best used for when the shape of your sample
is what is being reviewed, moreso than overall composion.
Sobel - This lter enahnces just the principal edges in an image by applying a mathemacal formula to a 3x3
pixel neighborhood to locate and highlight edges.
Roberts - This lter enhances ne edges in an image by applying a mathemacal formula upon a 4x4 pixel
neighborhood to produce its eect. The upper le pixel in the neighborhood is the one that is replaced.
Sculp - The “Sculp” lter applies a sculpted eect on the image, as if it was carved out of a material.
Horizontal - The “Horizontal” lter detects and emphasizes horizontal edges.
Vercal - The “Vercal” lter detects and emphasizes vercal edges.
