Opons Menu
The “Opons” menu is a drop down secon containing various sets of parameters that can be adjusted to
change the behavior of the soware, from default le types to default save directories, color palee lists, and
saved magnicaons and calibraon sengs. These available secons will each be covered in more detail on
the following pages.
Preferences... - The “Preferences...” opon brings up a series of menus that allows you to alter the core behav-
ior of the AmScope/ToupView soware, such as le paths and types to save les in, grids, cursor behavior, and
more.
Measurement... - The “Measurement...” opon opens a series of menus allowing changing of the label colors,
signicant gures, and other various opons regarding how measurement tool outputs are displayed.
Magnicaon... - The “Magnicaon...” opon will open a list of all the currently saved magnicaon opons.
Calibrate... - The “Calibrate...” tool allows a user to use a micrometer slide or ruler (any unit of known mea-
surement visible through the microscope) to tell the soware how many pixels (px) are in a unit of known
measurement (inches, millimeters, microns), allowing the soware to extrapolate real distances in a sample at
a given magnicaon. This process is covered in more detail in its own secon, as it is a frequently asked ques-
on.
Edit Dye List... - The “Dye List” is the list of stains commonly used and their emissions and excitaon baries, as
well as the color spectrum. This allows a user to add their own stains to the list, useful when using post pro-
cessing and individual color channeling to enhance contrast results in an image.
Auto Correcon... - This menu opon brings up the automac seng adjustments, allowing a user to adjust
how aggressively the automac funcons behave.
