Table 17 Mainframe and Amplifier Faults
Fault Description
Fault Code(s)
Reported and Logged
Suggested Action
External CAN bus fault FXX CAN COMMS
XX=Mainframe Address
Check CAN wiring between Router and mainframes.
Failure of AC mains
supply
FXX MAINS POWER
XX=Mainframe Address
Check mains wiring, mains fuse in IEC inlet and front
panel isolator switch on specified mainframe. If all
seems ok, there may be an internal fault with the
unit’s power supply
Failure of battery supply FXX BATTERY POWER
XX=Mainframe Address
Check DC wiring, rear panel DC fuse and front panel
isolator switch on specified mainframe.
Failure of mainframe
auxiliary output
FXX AUX POWER OUT
XX=Mainframe Address
Check rear panel AUX fuse on mainframe.
Failure of CAN comms
to a single amplifier in a
mainframe
FXX/Y CAN COMMS
XX=Mainframe Address
Y=Slot Number
Check CAN wiring to mainframe and status of front
panel isolator switches. i.e is it turned off?
Over temp alarm FXX OVER TEMPERATURE
XX=Mainframe Address
Check the ambient temperature in the equipment
room and investigate amplifier loading and drive
conditions.
Internal fuse FXX FAULT-01
XX=Mainframe Address
Check internal fuse F5.
CPU reset FXX CPU RESET
XX=Mainframe Address
A one of occurrence may be experienced due to EMI
or transients. Repeated occurrences indicate faulty
electronics.
CPU memory fault FXX FAULT-09
XX=Mainframe Address
Mainframe electronics will need replacing.
Surveillance interface
CPU reset
FXX/Y IF CPU RESET
XX=Mainframe Address
Y=Slot Number
A one of occurrence may be experienced due to EMI
or transients. Repeated occurrences indicate faulty
electronics.
Surveillance interface
CPU memory
FXX/Y IF FAULT-09
XX=Mainframe Address
Y=Slot Number
Suspect Surveillance Interface electronics.
Surveillance Interface electronics will need replacing.
Cannot communicate
with surveillance
interface
FXX/Y IF COMMS
XX=Mainframe Address
Y=Slot Number
Check whether the Surveillance Interface or its
amplifier module has been removed. If all seems ok
then the surveillance card electronics should be
suspected.
Different surveillance
interface fitted from that
commissioned
FXX/Y AMP/IF TYPE
XX=Mainframe Address
Y=Slot Number
Indicates that the Amplifier or Surveillance Interface
have been changed to different type from that learnt.
