2. Chamber description
The drying and heating ovens with forced convection and advanced program functions M are specially
developed precision warming chamber with high capacity. They are equipped with a multifunctional micro-
processor touch display controller with a digital display accurate to one-tenth of a degree. With their com-
prehensive program control functions, they allow the high precision performance of temperature cycles with
fast heating-up phases.
All chambers are heated electrically and ventilated by fan-assisted, forced-air circulation.
The concept of air conduction guarantees high level of spatial and time-based temperature precision,
thanks to the direct and distributed air circulation into the interior. The powerful fan supports exact attain-
ment and maintenance of the desired temperature accuracy.
The chambers are regularly equipped with an overtemperature safety device class 1 acc. to DIN12880:2007
and with an overtemperature safety controller (selectable between overtemperature temperature safety
device class 2 or class 3.1 acc. to DIN12880:2007), see chap. 13).
The chambers are equipped with the "FailSafe" function, a second temperature sensor is used for mutual
monitoring and takes over the function in the event of an error (chap. 6).
Material: The inner chamber and the inside of the doors are made of stainless steel V2A (German material
no. 1.4301, US equivalent AISI 304 and material no. 1.4016, US equivalent AISI 430). When operating the
chambers at temperatures above 150 °C / 302 °F, the impact of the oxygen in the air may cause discolor-
ation of the metallic surfaces (yellowish-brown or blue) by natural oxidation processes. These colorations
are harmless and will in no way impair the function or quality of the chamber. The housing is RAL 7035
powder-coated. All corners and edges are also completely coated.
Controller: The efficient program controller is equipped with a multitude of operating functions, in addition
to recorder and alarm functions. Programming of test cycles is easily accomplished via the modern MB2
touch screen controller and is also possible directly with a computer via Intranet in connection with the APT-
COM™ 4 Multi Management Software (option, chap. 18.1). The chamber comes equipped with an Ethernet
serial interface for computer communication. In addition, the BINDER APT-COM™ 4 Multi Management
Software permits networking up to 100 chambers and connecting them to a PC for controlling and program-
ming, as well as recording and representing temperature data. For further options, see chap. 18.
All chamber functions are easy and comfortable to use thanks to their clear arrangement. Major features
are easy cleaning of all chamber parts and avoidance of undesired contamination.
The chambers sizes 56 and 115 are equipped with an on/off switch on the bottom right-hand side of the
door. The chambers sizes 260 and 720 have a main power switch on the chamber rear.
The chambers are regularly equipped with a zero-voltage relay alarm contact and a zero-voltage switching
contact. As optional equipment they are available with analog output, access ports with silicone plugs,
HEPA air filter, inert gas connection with mostly gas-tight design, object temperature display and object
temperature control.
The chambers are regularly equipped with an Ethernet interface for computer communication, e.g. via the
APT-COM™ 4 Multi Management Software (option, chap. 18.1) and with a USB interface to read out the
measured values in real time.
The models size 720 are equipped with
four castors. Both front castors can be locked by brakes.
Temperature ranges see technical data (chap. 22.4).
