andburns.Alwayswearsplash-proofgogglesandprotectiveclothing(glovesandaprons).Wash
handsafterhandling.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.

Twopersonsarerequiredforthisprocedure.Make
surethepersonmakingtheconnectionsiswearingface
protection.
1.Sitintheoperator'sseatandhavetheotherperson
maketheconnections.Makesuretheboosterbattery
is12V.
NOTICE:Preventtheprimarymachine’selectrical
systemfromreceivingexcessvoltage.Makesure
thatthesecondarymachine’sengineisnotoperating
orifapplicablethechargerisnotintheboostposition
whenyouattempttostarttheprimaryvehicle.
2.Ifusinganothermachineforpower,makesurethetwo
machinesdonottouch.
3.Connectthepositivejumpercablefromtheboostbat-
terytothepositivebatteryterminal(2)ofthedeadbat-
teryrst.
4.Connectthenegativejumpercablefromtheboostbat-
terytoagoodframeground(1),awayfromthedead
battery.
NOTE:Followtheenginestartingprocedureinthis
manual4-3.
5.Afterstartingtheengine,havetheotherpersondis-
connectthenegativejumpercable(1)rstandthe
positivejumpercable(2)last.
