Fillingthebucket
Therearetwobasicmethodsofllingabucketfromapile:arcpenetrationandsteppenetration.Judgethetypeof
penetrationneededforloadingandvarythemethodstosuitthematerials.
Arcpenetration
Withthearcpenetrationmethod,thebucketisforcedintothepileandrolledbackwhileraisedinacontinuousupward
arcuntilthebucketislled.Whenusingthismethod,rememberthattoomuchrollbackmayoverloadtheliftsystem.
Whenactivatingboththeliftandbuckethydraulicsystemsatthesametime,theliftsystemmayoccasionallystall.
Whenthishappens,disengageeithertheliftorrollbackfunctiontoallowmaximumhydraulicforcetoactuponone
setofcylinders.

Steppenetration
Withthesteppenetrationmethod,thebucketisforcedintothepileatgroundlevelwiththebucketbottomhorizontal.
Forcethebucketintothepileasfaraspossibleduringtheinitialthrust.Raisethebucketabout0.3m(1ft)andthen
forceitfurtherintothepile.Repeatthiscycleasmanytimesasnecessarytollthebucket.
