Section 3.5 Illumination Door and Drawer
The door that extends across the front of the illuminator opens
down.
Inside, a drawer pulls out. The clear tray where illumination is
performed is held in the drawer. The drawer is on a flatbed
agitator, so that blood products are agitated when they are in the
illuminator. There are four compartments in the tray to hold blood
products and the accompanying processing sets during
illumination.
There is a cover for the two compartments on the right side,
designed to keep the set and tubing from getting caught during
agitation. The operator opens this cover to load the set and closes
it before beginning illumination.
