3.1 Operating precautions and safety regulations
• The machine should be placed in a closed room and protected from dust and excessive humidity.
• The machine must be positioned suciently distant from walls, doors, windows and other machines or
workstations to allow immediate access to its various parts in the event of an emergency and/or in any case to
make it easy to access for maintenance or repairs.
• DO NOT install the machine close to control devices that generate dust, as it could settle and build up inside
the machine, damaging the internal electrical devices.
• DO NOT place the machine close to sources of heat or excessive cold, sources of water or electromagnetic
elds or smoke.
• Always keep the manual close at hand so that it can be referred to quickly. If it gets lost or damaged, request
a replacement copy from the Manufacturer.
• IT IS PROHIBITED to work when in poor physical health, or under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or medicines.
• Keep the machine clean and free from foreign objects (tools, other items), which could cause injury to the
operator or damage to the machine.
• Study the safety pictograms found on the machine and described in this manual. To work safely, clean them
and, if they are not legible, replace them with new pictograms.
• DO NOT use the machine if there are children present.
• The machine is tted with special guards to prevent the operator from coming into contact with internal mechanical
and electrical parts.
DANGER!
Only specialized and authorized personnel are allowed to access parts inside the machine for
carrying out maintenance and repairs.
DO NOT REMOVE OR MODIFY COVERS AND SAFETY DEVICES.
• Regularly check that the power cable is intact and free from cuts and cracks that could cause electrocution and\
or serious damage to the machine.
• DO NOT place or allow liquids to fall onto the machine guards.
DANGER!
There are hazardous zones inside the machine (transmission belts, pulleys) where there is a
crushing and\or entrapment hazard.
• Make sure you do not place your hands in the processing areas.
• Tie up hair to prevent it from becoming trapped in the machine.
• DO NOT wear ties, necklaces, pendants or other items that could get caught in the moving parts of the machine.
• The machine is fitted with mechanical safety devices (locks, screens, shields) and software
protection systems that stop all moving parts immediately when the front guard is opened.
DO NOT operate the machine if the safety systems are damaged. Switch the machine o immediately and
contact technical support.
WARNING
The machine can be started remotely from a PC. Pay the utmost attention when working on
potentially dangerous components (removing of jammed cards, restoring operation after errors
or carrying out ordinary maintenance).
• To ensure maximum safety, the covers and all accessible metal parts are electrically earthed. The eectiveness
of the earth connection of all the equipment is checked by quality control personnel before the machine is
placed on the market.
• IT IS PROHIBITED to remove the external and internal guards of the machine or modify them in any way. If it
is necessary to do so, contact MF Group srl - CIM division Technical Service.
