2.2.2 Misuse
Misuse means the prohibited use of the machine (for which the machine was not designed) that may result in
hazardous situations and potential injury.
With reference to article 3.23 of standard EN ISO 12100:2010, the reasonably foreseeable misuses taken into
account and for which measures have been adopted during the design stage or for which conduct prohibitions have
been provided include:
Reasonably foreseeable misuse Action to be taken
Foreseeable misuse resulting from carelessness and
not from the deliberate intention to misuse the machine
The operator must comply with the machine's operating
instructions at all stages of the machine's life, including
cleaning
Loss of control of the machine by the operator
The operator must not leave the machine unattended
while it is being used / controlled
Reex behaviour of a person in case of malfunctions,
accidents or failures etc. while the machine is in use
The operator must not leave the machine unattended
while it is being used / controlled.
The operator must adopt rational and normal conduct
when operating / controlling the machine
Misuse due to lack of concentration or carelessness
The operator must not use the machine for more than
1-2 hours continuously without stopping
Misuse due to taking the line of least resistance when
carrying out a task
The operator must comply with the machine's operating
instructions at all stages of the machine's life, including
cleaning
Misuse due to pressure associated with keeping the
machine running in all circumstances
The operator must not use the machine for more than
1-2 hours continuously without stopping
Misuse by people such as children and disabled persons
People with disabilities and children must not use the
machine
WARNING
Prohibited uses are explained in this use and maintenance manual and are indicated on the
machine by specic signs.
The machine must NOT be misused and specically:
• It must NOT be operated if the movable and xed guards are open, not securely fastened or missing
• It must NOT be operated if the micro switches and safety interlocks are disabled and, in general, if any safety
and/or protection device (mechanical, electrical) is disabled and/or not working.
• It must NOT be operated without the user having taken all the steps to eliminate the residual risks associated
with the units, as mentioned in the individual descriptive sheets.
