7.4 Simplex fiber cabling
7.4.1 Single card set redundancy
In this scenario, each matrix contains one fiber-optic Linking card set (see
Figure 7-4: Ring topology: single card set redundancy).
This approach still affords fiber connection redundancy since each rear card
houses two fiber-optic transceivers.
Note: In the absence of an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), this configuration
will not protect against loss of the node or the matrix itself.

7.4.1.1 Loss of single fiber connection
When there is no break in the fiber connections the fiber audio will be routed
using the primary ring.
If there is any connection failure on the primary ring and the secondary ring is
intact then the fiber audio routing will move to the secondary ring.
