3-4 Operator's Manual
3.6
VGA Output Port
This port provides standard video signals for an external monitor (see section 7.2 Using the VGA
Port).
3.7 Potential Equalization Connector
The potential equalization connector (grounding post) provides a redundant external connection
to earth ground if necessary.
3.8 Alarm Speaker
The alarm speaker provides an audio output signal to alert the operator to problems and alarms
that may occur while monitoring (see sections 6.5.3 Alarm Limits, 6.5.4 Alarm Volume, and 6.5.13
Alarms and Status Messages).
3.9 Cooling Fan
The cooling fan provides air circulation through the monitor. Cooling air enters through the vents
in the back of the monitor and exhausts through the fan. The fan does not require maintenance.
WARNING:
Fire hazard: Do not block airflow to the back of the INVOS™ monitor.
3.10 AC Input and Fuse
The AC input provides a connection for AC power. The INVOS™ system will operate on 100-240 V
AC/50 or 60Hz. The AC input has a master (mains) power switch that turns AC power to the
monitor ON and OFF. If this switch is in the OFF position, the monitor can only be turned on from
the internal backup battery.
Caution:
When the INVOS™ system is not in use, the master (mains) power switch must be turned on with
AC power connected in order to keep the battery charged. The battery has a nominal capacity of
1.2 Ah (ampere-hours). The charging time is 24 hours at 20°C for a fully discharged battery.
