Configure serial link
Printer preparation/Initialization/RS232 connection
This function is used to configure an external communication serial link between the printer
and an external device:
ʄ Speed
Select transmission speed (baud rate):: 4,800, 9,600, 19,200, 38,400 or 115,200.
ʄ Parity
Specify parity: No, Even or Odd.
ʄ Stop bit(s)
Select number of stop bits: 1 or 2.
ʄ Watchdog
Enter watchdog value in seconds: between 1 and 99.
ʄ RS232 Link
Select type of link: Direct, Standard or Test.
ʄ Simple protocol
Specify protocol type: None, message selection or external variables.
Refer to the 9040 printer serial link manual for further details on these settings.
CAUTION The 8-bit transmission format cannot be changed.
