11.1 Setting the lifting gap

Following changes in the needle thread strength, always check the lifting
gap. The correct lifting gap depends on the needle thread strength.
Proper setting
The needle thread slides unlimitedly between the nose of the bobbin
housing (1) and the grove in the throat plate (2).
The gap (A) should be 0.8 mm at the maximum lifting.
1. Tilt the machine head ( p. 15).
2. Open the hook cover.
3. Set the handwheel to 310°.

4. Remove the plug in the bottom part of the column.
5. Loosen the threaded pin (3).
6. Set the opening hook (4) as specified in the correct setting.
Important
Make sure that the gap is not too large. The middle part of the hook must
not collide with the edges of the throat plate groove (2).
7. Tighten the threaded pin (3).
8. Plug the opening again.
