If the inlet screen is not in an installed posion, the tangs must be snapped into the
locang groove in the inlet ange using an applicable tool to press them into posion.
For ISO anged pumps, we supply a combinaon inlet screen / trapped O-ring.
4.2.2 Mount the pump
The pump can be base or ange mounted using only the specied xings. The NW40
inlet variant cannot be ange mounted.
WARNING: PUMP INSTALLATION
Risk of injury and damage to equipment. Make sure that the pump is installed at the
vacuum system through its inlet ange or base. Use all available mounng points. If
the pump fails, the stored energy of the rotor can cause fast movement of the pump.
This will cause damage and injury to personnel.
WARNING: PUMP FAILURE
Risk of injury and damage to equipment. If a pump fails it is likely to eject parts into
the vacuum system onto which it is mounted. The customer must make sure that a
hazard is not created if this happens. We accept no responsibility for injury or
damage to persons, equipment or property as a result of a failed pump ejecng parts
into a customers system.
To mount the pump (base mount), use 4 x M5 bolts (Class 12.9) with 8 mm thread
engagement.
To mount the pump (ange mount), use 4 x Edwards Hooded Claw Clamps
(C10007090) and ghtened to 10 Nm.
Base mounng
The base of the pump can be xed to a rm support using the tapped xing holes.
Note:
Remove the four rubber feet from the four tapped xing holes before you base mount
the pump.
Obey the requirements that follow to make sure that the pump stays secured if the
pump seizes:

Inlet connecon and pump orientaon
The pump can be installed at the vacuum system through the inlet ange. Do not
operate the pump in an orientaon that is greater than horizontal.
