Note:
During operaon, if the temperature of the surface of the pump is higher than 60 °C, you
have to increase the cooling. If you do not suciently cool the pump and motor
controller, it will aect the performance of the pump.
We recommend to cool the pump by forced air-cooling or water-cooling, when possible.
Select the necessary cooling type as per the ambient temperature:
▪ Natural convecon cooling: For the light pumping dues, with an ambient air
temperature less than 35 °C, natural convecon cooling can be sucient to cool
the pump.
▪
Forced air-cooling: The ambient air temperature must be 5 °C to 40 °C when you
use forced air-cooling. Make sure that there is sucient supply of cooling air to the
pump.
▪
Water-cooling: Use water-cooling for the higher load applicaons or when you use
a ange heater (CF variants only). Ambient air temperature must be less than 40 °C
when you use the water-cooling. The water temperature must be between 10 °C
and 40 °C.
Refer to Pump performance data on page 30 for more informaon on the performance.
4.8.2 Forced air cooling
You can congure the customer controller to operate the air cooler only if the
commands can be sent through the serial interface or a manufacturer's TIC Turbo and
Instrument Controller or Turbo Controller.
Air-cooling accessories are available for the pump (refer to Accessories on page 101).
Install the air cooler as given in the instrucon manual supplied with it. If you use an
alternave fan for air-cooling, make sure that the ow rate is more than 100 m
3
h
-1
(60 cfm).
You can supply the power to the air cooler by a customer external power supply, the
manufacturer's TIC Turbo and Instrument Controller, the TIC Turbo Controller or the
Controller. Connect the connector into the socket at the side of the controller. Refer to
Figure: Auxiliary interface connecon on page 71.
4.8.3 Water cooling
An accessory is available to water cool the pump. Install the water cooler as given in the
instrucons supplied with it.
Make sure that the water supply is constant and the quality, temperature and ow rate
limits of the water are as per the Table: Water cooling block supply requirements on
page 57.
CAUTION: PUMP COOLING
Risk of minor injury or damage to equipment. If the coolant supply fails, cool the
pump to ambient temperature before you restart the pump.
