7.Useavoltmetertotestthevoltageatthetransmitter’spowersupplyterminals.
Thevoltageshouldbewithinspeciedlimits.ForDCpower,youmayneedtosizethecable.

Prerequisites
Youwillneedacopyoftheinstallationmanualforyourtransmitter.
Procedure
1.Beforeopeningthewiringcompartments,disconnectthepowersource.
Ifthetransmitterisinahazardousarea,waitveminutesafterdisconnectingthe
power.
2.Verifythatthetransmitterisconnectedtothesensoraccordingtotheinformationprovidedin
yourtransmitterinstallationmanual.
3.Verifythatthewiresaremakinggoodcontactwiththeterminals.
4.Checkthecontinuityofallwiresfromthetransmittertothesensor.

Prerequisites
Youwillneedacopyofyoursensorinstallationmanualandyourtransmitterinstallationmanual.
Procedure
Refertothesensorandtransmitterinstallationmanualsforgroundingrequirementsandinstructions.
10.12Checkforradiofrequencyinterference
Performtheactionsdescribedhereifyoususpectyourfrequencyordiscreteoutputisbeingaffectedby
radiofrequencyinterference(RFI).PossiblesourcesofRFIincludeasourceofradioemissions,ora
largetransformer,pump,ormotorthatcangenerateastrongelectromagneticeld.
Procedure
•EliminatetheRFIsource.
•Movethetransmitter.
•Useshieldedcableforthefrequencyoutput.
•Terminatetheshieldingattheoutputdevice.Ifthisisimpossible,terminatetheshieldingat
thecableglandorconduittting.
•Donotterminatetheshieldinginsidethewiringcompartment.
•360-degreeterminationofshieldingisunnecessary.
